Summer has come to an end, and what
a better way to celebrate
the end of the season by gathering together at the Annual
Labor Day Picnic held at Lake Julian Park in Arden this past
September the 1st.
Our Labor Day Picnic is one of great importance for our
community as it is time for the Election of Officers for the
upcoming year. It is a big challenge to lead this
association, and our 2007 Officers have done a superb job in
organizing and planning for all our various events this past
year.
Our 2007 Administration followed in the footsteps of past
administrations and held successful events and gatherings
such as the Valentine's Party, Halloween Party, Christmas
Party, and the Annual Gala Night. Each event was
outdone from previous years thanks to the hard work and
dedication of our Officers and Committee Members. 2007
saw a revival of our Community Outreach projects with ABCCM
and Loving Food Resources, and the new tradition of the
election of the first ever Miss FAC-WNC, which helped to
raise funds for the Annual Gala.
Bravo to our 2007 Officers and a huge thank you for all your
hard work and dedication to FAC-WNC.
The Labor Day Picnic was full of fantastic food provided by
our many members, fun and games, laughter and gathering
together. It was all set in a wonderful family
friendly environment at Lake Julian where there was a park
for the kids to play, paddle boats, volleyball, and scenic
walking trails around the lake. Labor Day also
signifies the time for annual membership dues! We want to
welcome all our new members who join us for the first time!
The air was full of excitement and joy as the election of
the new officers went underway. The following members
were re-elected to the following posts. Arnel Marucut
- President; Charlie Rice - Vice President; Bing Rice -
Treasurer; and Rem Navarro - Board of Advisor.
Congratulations to these members who have done a splendid
job in the past year and we are happy to have you back!
A big congratulations and welcome to our two new elected
officers, Brian Rodriguez our Lead Dance Director has taken
on the position of Secretary, and Ladislao Armena a wise
leader in his own right and talented singer and dancer makes
his debut as Auditor. Congratulation to all our new
Officers for the 2008 year! Best wishes for a
successful new year!
