Committee

We want you! 2009 Committees.  It's time to start a new year, with new projects and new ideas.  In order to do this, we need volunteers to help organize and produce the events of the association.  We are looking for committee heads and members to ensure the success of each event. 

Below is a listing of the committees and their descriptions.  Click the corresponding box(es) that you are interested in joining (you may select multiple committees).  Don't forget to leave your name, email address, and phone number (information is sent only to current officers of the association).

Ways & Means

Drafts the Constitution & By-Laws and considers ways to keep the association Solvent; accepts written and signed proposals to change the Constitution & By-laws.  Reports (when necessary) to the Board of Directors Chair and advises the Board of Directors when asked regarding whether the Constitution and By-laws are being followed and whether they need amending.  Proposals for amending the Constitution & By-laws are transmitted to the Board of Directors and presented by the Board of Directors Chair for voting at the Annual Membership Meeting.

Public Relations & Promotions

PR & Events Promotions:  Promotes the events and activities of the FAC-WNC to the general public.  Uses media such as flyers, newspapers, radio, TV, and mayoral proclamations to let people outside the association know about its activities and events.  Puts special emphasis on publicity for the Gala Night.  Handles the content and production of the Gala Souvenir Program.  Gives copies of its productions and the Gala Souvenir Program to the Secretary.

Newsletter:  Puts out the association newsletter.  Appoints a newsletter editor.

Newsletter Editor:  Gathers information for the newsletter, sets a deadline for member submissions, and produces the newsletter.  Publishes the Treasurer's and Auditor's report from the last year in the first issue of the new year.  Publishes the newsletter at least once a year and makes good faith effort to publish one issue/quarter.  Gives copies of each newsletter to the Secretary.

Membership & Fund Raising

Recruits new members and encourages the participation of current and former member.  Contacts potential new members and invites them to join the association and participate in its events.
